Eligibility Requirements
Who Can Apply?
The ACCESS Scholarship Program is intended for undergraduate students at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez who are enrolled in one of the following engineering programs:
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
Applicants must demonstrate academic talent, financial need, and potential to contribute to engineering fields of national and regional strategic importance.
Application Process
Step 1: Complete the Online Application
Submit the online application form by the posted deadline.
Step 2: Submit Required Materials
Submit the required materials, including a one-page essay and a current academic transcript.
Step 3: Academic Record Review
Authorize the ACCESS selection committee to review academic records.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Applicants must have financial need certified by the UPRM Office of Financial Aid.
Applicants and active scholars must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale.
Yes. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, or qualified refugees.
ACCESS scholars may receive up to $15,000 annually, depending on financial need certified by the UPRM Office of Financial Aid.
